Conquer Mt Kenya in 4 Days Sirimon to Chogoria Route Adventure

Ascent On Day 2 of your Mount Kenya trek, begin with a hearty breakfast at Old Moses Camp before following the track uphill. At the junction, fork right and take a break at the Ontulili River. Continue contouring through the Moorland and cross the Liki North River, then proceed uphill to the breathtaking Mackinders Valley. Here, enjoy panoramic views up the valley towards Shipton Camp, a surreal setting below towering peaks and glaciers. Keep an eye out for the resident population of rock hyrax and sunbirds. This 14km trek, with a 900m ascent, takes approximately 7 hours.

Embark on an unforgettable adventure to the summit of Pt Lenana (4985m) and the scenic Mt Kenya Bandas. Begin your day at 3am to catch the breathtaking African sunrise from the top. The climb starts on a challenging trail of frozen scree, followed by a rocky path with some minor scrambling. With a clear moon, you'll only need a torch for guidance, and on a pollution-free night, the star-filled sky will be like nowhere else on earth. The 3-4 hour ascent will be rewarded with a stunning view of Mt. Kilimanjaro on the horizon. After reaching the summit, descend to Minto's hut for a hearty breakfast and take a short rest before continuing to the Mt Kenya Bandas or the Anabas lodge. Follow the gorges valley trail and marvel at the breathtaking views of The Temple, Lake Michaelson, Mushroom rocks, and the Giant billiards table. End your day with a comfortable stay at the bandas known as the Anabas Lodge, where you can enjoy log fires, hot showers, and a cozy bed.

Start the day with a leisurely descent from Meru Bandas on a broad track that winds through the bamboo and virgin rainforest. Meet your vehicle at the end of the trail and transfer to Chogoria town. From there, head to Nairobi, arriving by 5:00 pm, marking the end of your Mt. Kenya adventure. Arrive at Chogoria town to begin your journey to Nairobi
