A sunrise balloon flight is the most peaceful way to see a safari landscape. As the sun comes up you drift low over the grasslands, rivers and acacia trees, watching herds of wildebeest, zebra, elephant and giraffe from above - and, during the migration, columns of animals stretching across the plains. Each flight ends with a bush breakfast before a game drive back to camp. Balloon safaris are booked as an add-on to any of our Masai Mara or Serengeti itineraries.
Collected from your camp around 5am and driven to the launch site.

Flights last roughly one hour, followed by a bush breakfast. Including pick-up and the return game drive, plan for a morning of about 4-5 hours.
Pick-up from your camp is usually around 5am so the balloon can launch at sunrise, when the air is calmest.
The pilot makes the final safety decision on the morning. If a flight cannot go ahead, we help you rebook on another morning or arrange a refund according to the operator's terms.
Operators set a minimum age (commonly around 7 years) and may have weight or mobility guidelines. Share your group's details when booking and we will confirm before you travel.
Yes - a balloon flight can be added to any of our Masai Mara or Serengeti safaris. Book early for July-October, when flights fill up quickly.
