Seeing the Serengeti from a hot air balloon at sunrise is a highlight of any northern Tanzania safari. Flights launch at dawn and last roughly an hour, drifting low over the plains and kopjes with views of grazing herds and, depending on the season, the great migration below. After landing you enjoy a bush breakfast before continuing your game drive. Launch areas vary with the season and the migration, so we match your balloon flight to where you are staying.

Year-round for resident game. The migration follows a rough annual cycle: calving in the southern plains January-March, movement north through the year, and river crossings in the northern Serengeti / Mara area roughly July-October. Exact timing shifts with rainfall each year.
