A refreshing escape less than two hours from Nairobi. Ol Donyo Sabuk - known locally as Kilimambogo, the 'mountain of buffalo' - rises above the Athi plains with a forested trail to its summit, where on a clear day you can see Mount Kenya and the plains stretching away below. Your ranger-escorted hike passes through habitat for buffalo, colobus and many forest birds. After a picnic lunch you head to Fourteen Falls on the Athi River, a wide curtain of cascades that is at its most dramatic after the rains.
