Day-by-Day Itinerary

D1 Travel to Bwindi Entebbe → Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Drive to the Bwindi area, arriving in time to rest before the next day's trek.
D2 Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
A guided trek to spend a permitted hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family.
D3 Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park Bwindi Impenetrable Forest → Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, often via the scenic Ishasha sector, known for its tree-climbing lions, with a game drive en route.
D4 Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Cruise Queen Elizabeth National Park
A morning game drive followed by an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, one of Africa's more concentrated spots for hippo and waterbird viewing.
D5 Departure Queen Elizabeth National Park → Entebbe

Best Time to Visit

Bwindi can be visited year-round since trekking happens regardless of season, though the two drier windows (June-August and December-February) mean less mud on the trekking trails. Wetter months still offer good trekking - the terrain is simply more demanding underfoot.
